Cable Technicians install, maintain and repair equipment that has access to the Internet, is connected to telephone line or carries communication signals. Their job generally entails a wide array of tasks such as rearranging dialing equipment, inspecting wiring, repairing malfunctioning equipment, adjusting equipment settings for enhanced performance and using diagnostic equipment to identify problems.
In addition, they demonstrate and explain how equipment works to customers like private homeowners and businesses. They need to have good communication skills to service both business and residential customers. Technicians are also required to keep records on installations, repairs and maintenance visits.
